Refreshing & Informative: Edible Seating Cards

Attach a little pre-reception nosh like fruit, candy or fudge to your seating card. Your guests will appreciate the refreshing treat on the way to their seat.

Seating cards are key to getting your guests where they need to go at your reception, but they are usually simple paper that is quickly forgotten about. A fun way to spruce up your seating cards is to pair them with something edible that fits your theme.

If you are having an adults only wedding, you could place your seating cards on cocktails - as a garnish perhaps - which not only gets your guests where they need to go, but starts the night off on the right foot! Even if you are not planning on serving alcohol at your reception, you can still come up with fun mocktails to serve to guests, from virgin Piña Coladas to fruity lemonades.

Another idea is to attach your escort cards to food. If you are having an outdoor wedding during the summer, there is little more refreshing than a juicy piece of fruit, such as a peach or nectarine. If you don't want something so bulky, you could use strawberries or pineapple chunks, or you could attach the cards to a nice watermelon slice which is perfect for cooling guests down on a hot summers' day.

If you want to do something else, such as attaching the cards to meat or cheese, that can be nice, but vegans and vegetarians may not be able to enjoy the gesture.

Lastly, you could use a petit four or cheesecake square, but since cake will most likely be served later (although some couples do choose to forgo the cake), this can be a bit redundant. If you want to go with a sweet, a chocolate truffle may work best.
