If you are looking for a fabulous and historic location to tie the knot on the Outer Cape, Wellfleet Preservation Hall is an amazing spot to consider.
One of the hall’s best features is its three unique spaces available for use. The upstairs hall (Simone Reagor Hall) is wonderful for ceremonies with its stained glass windows and chandeliers. It’s also great for dancing, cocktails, and banquet style dinners. The downstairs hall (Geiger Hall) works well for intimate dinners and it also has a great stage for dancing the night away. Lastly, the backyard garden is beautifully manicured and can accommodate a large tent for receptions during warmer months.
Couples will also have the option of working with some of the vendors on WPH’s preferred vendor list, a real help if you aren’t sure of who to work with and don’t feel like going through too much leg work.
WPH offers off-season rates to couples who want to get married during the less hectic seasons on Cape Cod.
Wellfleet Preservation Hall was renovated recently (completed in May 2011), with some of its most endearing historical features saved, while modern conveniences were added. The original metal ceilings, wooden balcony, and leaded glass windows were fully restored. Jonathan Kendall’s iconic doors were brought back to their original vibrancy and the wainscoting and wood floors were refurbished.
The original cupola was also fixed up and now is the perch for a blue heron that was sculpted by Del Filardi. Another new addition is the custom-crafted crystal chandeliers in the Simone Reagor Hall.
Geiger Hall has a new sound and lighting system, a new commercial kitchen, a stunning tile installation, an elevator and 6 new restrooms. There are also signature wall tiles which were designed by Ellen Lebow.
Generally the hall books between 8 and 12 weddings per year and high season weddings need to be booked well in advance as the hall plays host to other events throughout the year and particularly in the summer.
Wellfleet Preservation Hall is at 335 Main Street in Wellfleet, 508-349-1800.
